No. Candidates can undertake Level 1 or Level 2 of the certification program, or both.
There are no educational or professional work prerequisites needed to register for Level 1 or Level 2.
Candidates register online for an exam.
For each Certification Level, there is an exam fee. The exam costs $300 USD per level (equivalent local currency)
The Certification program is complete online for Level 1 and Level 2. Both certification are conducted in a 4-hour window — 3-hours for training course (75% of allotted) time and 1-hour for an online multiple-choice-based examination (25% of allotted time).
The SDA exams are offered in English only. SDA is aware that not every candidate’s native language is English. In the exam development process, SDA makes every effort to ensure that questions are written in a clear, concise form and avoids the use of colloquialisms or other terms and phrases that might confuse a non-native English speaker.
Candidates’ preparation times will vary based on their professional experience, academic background, and familiarity with the concepts tested on the curriculum. There is no expectation of preparation for Level 1 or Level 2 exams.
The Candidate Responsibility Statement is an ethical oath required by all SDA Candidates.
The SDA is a Professional Body and it expects that all SDA Candidates and Certification Holders maintain high standards of personal and professional ethics and conduct. Therefore, all SDA Candidates and Certification Holders must abide by the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
The Certification courses are available online 365 days a year.
You will be required to make a credit card payment during the Certification Course registration process. If you are unable to do this, please contact us at info@sportsdataacademy.com

Yes. Candidates can transfer a registration to another candidate.
No. There is no annual fee payable for each Certification Holder.
All computer types will work, provided it has access to the Internet.
Yes. You will need an original, non-expired form of government issued photo ID (e.g. passport or drivers licence).
Upon commencing the certification, you will be required to upload a digital photocopy of this government issues photo ID.
Yes. Simply email customer support and we can defer your certification.
To request special accommodations, please email info@sportsdatainstitute.com. Requests must be made at least 6 weeks prior to an certification exam sitting and supporting documentation must be provided prior to special accommodations being granted. Although the SDA is committed to making its certification course accessible to everyone, unfortunately we cannot guarantee that all requests for special accommodations will be granted.
A Candidate should bring the following items with them on the day of the Certification course:
8:00 am Candidates check-in online.
8:15 am Certification training course begins (online) (3 hours)
11:15 am Certification training completed
11:30am – 12:30pm — Multiple choice exam (1 hour)
No. Phones or any form of communication device are not permitted whilst you are sitting the online certification and exam.
If you finish the Certification and Exam before the end of the allotted time, you may leave the online testing room.
